Science against COVID-19: social project from the creation of an ozonizer with a capacity of 0.5 g / hour to implementation

მეცნიერება COVID-19 -ს წინააღმდეგ: სოციალური პროექტი 0,5 გ/სთ წარმადობის ოზონატორის შექმნიდან დანერგვამდე

With the methodological support of the Teaching-Research Scientific Center, an ozonizer with a productivity of 0.5 g/l was developed at the R. Agladze Institute of Inorganic Chemistry and Electrochemistry, with the technical participation of the Co Ltd Service Company. Director of the Center Tamaz Marsagishvili and Director of the Institute Grigor Tatishvili introduced the ozonizer to employees of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social protection on 25th of March.

With the spread of the new coronavirus, the institute’s laboratory, under the leadership of Vazha Chagelishvili, continued to modify the method and adapt it to the epidemic prevention process. Scientists have created an ozonizer of appropriate productivity for implementation. The design is universal, which implies the use of an ozonizer both for obtaining the planned concentration of ozone in water, and for disinfecting air and objects in enclosed space. Work continues on improving the technical characteristics of the ozonizer and increasing its productivity.

The created ozonizer, and the adjusted method of using ozone against the spread of COVID-19, was presented as part of a social project to the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health. The parties agreed on a long-term relationship in the implementation of disinfection and sterilization technologies related to the use of ozone.
